I love to travel and have enjoyed many wonderful trips to different places like the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Belgium, Australia, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, Bahamas, Grand Cayman's, and of course, around the United States (45 of the 50 states).
I am originally from the Midwest. Born and raised in Iowa, attended college in Nebraska and in Minnesota. I have lived in Georgia, Iowa, Minnesota, and North Carolina. I love reading, especially historical fiction, science fiction, and mystery genres (especially if it has historical and science facts embedded). Having a multicultural worldview has been enhanced by interacting with friends from around the world and helping them achieve citizenship in the U.S. To highlight this in my personal life, I enjoy extending and sharing cultural nuances by planning dinner parties with family and friends that includes creating new dishes from different countries. Everyone brings a course and a corresponding drink from the country to share. I have a miniature schnauzer and pug who are daily entertainment. I enjoy making cards and creating shirts and wall hangings with my silhouette and cricut when I have bonus alone time.

Sherry has a growth mindset and was always flexible to ensure schedules worked with our SME's. She helped our at risk learners build confidence in their abilities by focusing her energy on building strong relationships with them, the staff, and the community. It was obvious in a short time she helped with our entire program. She was focused on solutions and found ways to support learners, SME's, and stakeholders in many ways. I have been so impressed with the ability she has to navigate challenges with grace and understanding. She is one of the most collaborative employees I have worked with in the past 28 years in education. Sherry is a very dedicated educator, mentor, and ambassador for positive change in any organization.
